Oakland University began offering an autism endorsement certificate for teachers and other professionals over 3 decades ago. Today the program has grown and evolved into the Oakland University Center for Autism (OUCARES).
OUCARES provides innovative programs for teachers and programming for individuals and their families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our multifaceted approach includes education for professionals, research in the field of autism education and daily living, and support services for families.
About OUCARES - OU Center for Autism Outreach
Oakland University Center for Autism Outreach Services (OUCARES) has a mission of improving the quality of life of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, their families, and our larger community by offering quality and comprehensive programming across the lifespan.
We work with over 2,000 individuals impacted by Autism annually by offering recreational sports, social and life skills training, employment skills programs, parents supports, and community events. OUCARES programming is designed for 3 year olds through adults on the Autism Spectrum.
YOU can make a difference and help improve the quality of life of individuals impacted by Autism by donating to OUCARES. Donations will be used to develop programs, purchase much-needed supplies, offer participant scholarships, and expand our outreach.
